Stop NOT getting in front of the camera!

Yes, I'm talking to you. I know you're exhausted. Maybe you forgot to put makeup on today (or all week). A messy bun has been your hairstyle of choice since your kids were born. I get it. Motherhood is not for the weak. Those beautiful little ones that your have created are work. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old myself. But you are here, and you, Mom, are doing an amazing job. Even when you think you're not, you are. You are the whole world to those little ones.

Often times when mothers contact me to book a session for their children, I ask if they would like to be in some images. Even if they say no, I will encourage a shot or two with them in it on the day of their session. At newborn sessions, I always ask mom (and dad) if they would like a shot with their little one. I often hear from mom, "Oh no! I'm a mess!" or "I still have baby weight. I don't want to be in any photos". Just STOP! Mom, you are amazing and beautiful and someone's world. You don't have to show anyone the image if you don't want, but one day (and it will come sooner than you think) your little one won't be so little. That image will be a moment in time. A moment to remember when you were someone's world.

So mom, take your makeup-less, messy bun, yoga pant wearing self and get in front of that camera! I am making it my own personal resolution in 2017 to take my own advice.
